Hatha is a general category that includes most yoga styles. It is an old system that includes the practice of asanas (yoga postures) and pranayama (breathing exercises), which help bring peace to the mind and body, preparing the body for deeper spiritual practices such as meditation.

This class will be relatively gentle, slow and great for beginners or students who prefer a more relaxed style where they hold poses longer. It can vary a lot and will keep you balanced in all areas.

Purna, meaning integrated or complete. Purna Yoga represents a holistic approach to yoga integrating not just the physical postures but also philosophy, meditation, pranayama breath control and the yogic personal and social code of ethics. The postural instruction is alignment focused. Sequences range from gentle restorative to dynamic. Blocks, belts and bolsters are available to be used to support and modify postures safely.

We seek to integrate all 8 limbs (Ashtanga) of yoga the way it was originally taught, more than 3000years ago in India. Yoga asanas, or postures, are just one of these limbs. The other limbs are equally important, including meditation, pranayama breath control, and the personal and social code of ethics, the yamas and niyamas.

What To Bring:

Feel Free to bring your own mat or a large towel for your practice. Wear Comfortable clothing that is non restrictive and allows free flowing movement. Please take to arrive 10mins early to settle and prepare for the class.

Who can come?

This class is suited for all levels, including beginners. If you are pregnant or have an existing injury please be sure to notify the instructor prior to class.
